Actually on May 25, you don’t have to knock, just come on in! So many people have said to me “I drive by the house all the time, but I’ve never been inside”. Here’s your chance – on May 25 (2 – 6 pm), park your car or your bike and join us at our community open house!
We have so much to celebrate. The expansion and renovation of Sorrentino’s Compassion House would not have happened without the generous support of the community. We want to show you what you helped build.
Sorrentino’s Compassion House is a haven to so many women at a very difficult time in their lives and the women who stay at the house are very grateful. Some of our current and former guests will be participating in the Edmonton Public Library’s Human Library. Check them out and learn first hand about what it’s like to stay at the house.
We are hosting a party in our back alley too. There will be music and performances by Culture Collective, Ampersand Grey will be taking photos – you can even leave us a photo message, and in the market Sandra from Orange Avocado will be selling her fabulous jewelry, Cory Christopher will have herb planters, pick up some fruits and vegetables from Organic Box and Tix on the Square will have a variety of craft items. There will be activities for kids and of course no outdoor event is complete without the smell of Fat Franks wafting in the breeze.
Our guests really enjoy when people tour the house. So stop by and say hello.
I’ve checked the weather and the forecast looks great.
